On April 24, 2025, the Office of Information Technology enabled a new Data Redaction feature in ServiceNow. The new feature enables ITIL users to flag tickets that may have Restricted or Confidential information. No action is necessary, and no impact is expected to current processes or workflows.
What does the Data Redaction button do
If you identify restricted or confidential information in a ServiceNow ticket, select the Request Data Redaction button on the top of the ticket to submit the Data Redaction Request form. After completing the form, the Service Management Office will review the request and remove information that meets the criteria. To learn more about the process, please see KB0014527.
